Pregnancy & Maternity

PREGNANCY & MATERNITY

Pregnancy & Maternity Photographer Christchurch, New Zealand.

Ever since Demi Moore was photographed for the front cover of Vanity Fair, more and more women have chosen to be captured for posterity in the prime of their pregnancy.

Pregnancy is one great time in your life when your partner, you and your closest are looking forward to welcoming a new life into your family.

A pregnancy photography session is a stunning way to capture this momentous life-changing event. Your pregnancy photographs will be sensual, graceful and intimate.

You are welcome to have your session taken in my studio or choose your favourite park, beach, or any place you like. It may be a place that has meaning to you. Your family home is an excellent option; it's comfortable, personal, and accommodating for changing wardrobes if need be.

I want to make sure your pregnancy photo shoot is a relaxing, stress-free, and memorable experience. And if you’d like to have the full magazine front cover experience, I’m happy to arrange a makeup artist or hairstylist for you.

The optimum time to take these priceless photos is 34-35 weeks or around 28 weeks if you are expecting two bundles of joy.

To avoid missing this chance, just remember to book in as soon as you are ready – your baby might arrive a bit earlier than expected!

I am here to make your experience showcase who you are and your story, so do not worry if recent trends of going semi-nude are not for you. I am very happy to do any type of portrait in which you feel most comfortable.

My focus is on beautifully presented, high-resolution digital images so you can get prints of any size on any medium you choose anytime in the future, or share on social media. I also offer high-end pieces of artwork for your walls, mantelpiece or bedside cabinets.

Portrait Price List:

You may just be after one awesome image or many different images. You can get up to 15 completely different amazing digital images. It all depends on what I'm shooting for and how many images you get, but no good images are left out.

Fee for just yourself and your bump = $445. With your partner = $525. With your whole family = $595

There is no extra fee for location portraits within Christchurch, as I love to get out of the studio and I think some folk are more relaxed and happy at a spot they like or that has meaning.

My fee is really good with this flat rate = no hidden costs like many other portrait photographers who charge you a small or free sitting fee, then push you to spend up to even thousands for the pictures, and that's maybe not even including the digital images.

Extra Info:

Booking - You're very welcome to meet up in advance so I can help you plan your session in person. If time or distance is not easy, then we can chat via email/phone. Upon booking, you will be required to pay the full amount up to 48 hrs prior via internet banking or at the start of our session in cash. I provide a 100% money-back cancellation fee up to 1 hour prior to the start of the session. So do not worry if someone is not feeling well or the weather is terrible and you need to postpone or cancel.

Hair and Makeup - Totally up to you. How you like. If you are not sure, I can recommend and organise the best makeup artist & hairstylists I know in this town. $150 for makeup or $190 for hair and makeup. You may want to visit your hairdresser/makeup store just prior to the shoot for a quick style or feel confident getting a friend or just doing it yourself.

The session - Expect the entire session to be half to an hour, but it's so much fun it seems very quick. We shoot as much as we can, as many ideas as we can, to get our awesome bunch of images.

After the session - I will spend a couple of hours picking the hundreds of photos we took down to a perfect amount. No good image is missed out. I then spend a couple of hours ever so slightly improving the image quality. That is exposure, colours, framing, and taking out anything distracting. Then I email you the high/full-resolution images for you to download to your computer to have forever. I suggest you share the images to other computers and stick them on an external hard drive, i.e. create multiple backups. We do keep backups here in case you ever lose the images.

You can choose to help select the finals. It is a difficult and tedious task with family portraits as you have to look at more than one face at a time for each image to see what is best for everyone, and people can go crazy doing this; hence, I don't recommend it. But I do not mind one bit and totally understand if you wish to. I give you so many images that you will definitely know nothing good is missed. I pride myself on giving the ultimate after-sales service, so even if you want all the (in-focus / properly exposed) images, you get them as well. Lately I've had some people like editing with their images themselves on the computer, and I understand.

Reprints & Enlargements:

You can order basic reprints and enlargements easily through me for only what the lab charges for printing. This is an amazing after-sales service that I fully recommend. So roughly a 6x4 inch reprint = $1, 5x7 inch = $3, A4 / 8x12 / 8x10 inch) size print = $10, etc.

If you're after getting great quality photo prints yourself, then I only recommend going to Kens Cameras on Victoria Street. If you do choose to order at Kens, I can meet you there to help you see what images you would like printed to what size and what medium, such as prints that you can frame, canvas, metal, acrylic, etc. Or just pop in yourself, as they are very helpful and have samples and sizes, and no obligation to get any printing done if you’re still deciding.
