Graduation Portraits

Graduation Portraits Christchurch, New Zealand.

You've done the hard work; now it's time to celebrate!

Your graduation day is an exciting day; I will strive to help you capture the memory of this day with as little fuss as possible.

It is a proud and memorable occasion – for you, your family and your friends. One that I can perfectly capture in portraiture of the highest quality.

I can take an individual portrait of you as well as photographs with family members and friends. We can do some shots with the gown and cap and also some without. In my opinion, graduation time is just as important a time to get a personal and family portrait recorded.

At the graduation photo session, we allow 30 min. to an hour. During this time, we take a variety of pictures for you to choose from & any special requests you may have.

You are welcome to have your portrait taken in my studio or choose your favourite place. It may be a place that has meaning to you. I highly recommend the Art Centre as it was Christchurch’s original university complex and also the Botanic Gardens across the road. Or at the institution you have studied at. There is no fee difference in where you choose to have the pictures taken.

My focus is on beautifully presented, high-resolution digital images so you can get prints of any size on any medium you choose anytime in the future, or share on social media. I also offer high-end pieces of artwork for your walls, mantelpiece or bedside cabinets.

I always work with maximum passion and professionalism to capture the emotion, the details, and the love in photos that will make your memories last forever. You are guaranteed custom-made work of the highest quality. I would love to hear from you; please feel free to get in touch for more information.

Portrait Price List:

You may just be after one awesome image of yourself, or with your family, or many different combinations and separate shots of everyone. You can get up to 25 completely different amazing images and maybe many more. It all depends on what I'm shooting for and how many images you get, but no good images are left out.

My fee for just individual portraits of yourself is $395. Including parents, $495. With all family, $595.

My fee is really good with this flat rate = no hidden costs like many other portrait photographers who charge you a small or free sitting fee, then push you to spend up to even thousands for the pictures, and that's maybe not even including the digital images.

Extra Info:

Booking - You're very welcome to meet up in advance so I can help you plan your session in person. If time or distance is not easy, then we can chat via email/phone. Upon booking, you will be required to pay the full amount up to 48 hrs prior via internet banking or at the start of our session in cash. I provide a 100% money-back cancellation fee up to 1 hour prior to the start of the session. So do not worry if someone is not feeling well or the weather is terrible and you need to postpone or cancel.

The session - Expect the entire session to be half to an hour, but it's so much fun it seems very quick. We shoot as much as we can, as many ideas as we can, to get our awesome bunch of images.

After the session - I will spend a couple of hours picking the hundreds of photos we took down to a perfect amount. No good image is missed out. I then spend a couple of hours ever so slightly improving the image quality. That is exposure, colours, framing, and taking out anything distracting. Then I email you the high/full-resolution images for you to download to your computer to have forever. I suggest you share the images to other computers and stick them on an external hard drive, i.e. create multiple backups. We do keep backups here in case you ever lose the images.

You can choose to help select the finals. It is a difficult and tedious task with family portraits as you have to look at more than one face at a time for each image to see what is best for everyone, and people can go crazy doing this; hence, I don't recommend it. But I do not mind one bit and totally understand if you wish to. I give you so many images that you will definitely know nothing good is missed. I pride myself on giving the ultimate after-sales service, so even if you want all the (in-focus / properly exposed) images, you get them as well. Lately I've had some people like editing with their images themselves on the computer, and I understand.

Reprints & Enlargements:

You can order basic reprints and enlargements easily through me for only what the lab charges for printing. This is an amazing after-sales service that I fully recommend. So roughly a 6x4 inch reprint = $1, 5x7 inch = $3, A4 / 8x12 / 8x10 inch) size print = $10, etc.

If you're after getting great quality photo prints yourself, then I only recommend going to Kens Cameras on Victoria Street. If you do choose to order at Kens, I can meet you there to help you see what images you would like printed to what size and what medium, such as prints that you can frame, canvas, metal, acrylic, etc. Or just pop in yourself, as they are very helpful and have samples and sizes, and no obligation to get any printing done if you’re still deciding.
