The Forgotten Coast 40 Photos

Where is the forgotten coast and how did it get its name?

My good mate Grant MacKinnon finds this stretch of coastline in Fiordland, New Zealand to be his paradise on earth. This is where he likes to holiday, whitebait, fish, surf, unwind, & explore. Only way in is via helicopter or a 2-3 day walk.

Last year he took a few of his mates to live off the land for a few days. It is the wildest and remotest place in New Zealand. Only one man (the infamous Beansprout) and his wife live in this part of the world’s coastline.

Grant loves it down here so much he even started a business - Fiordland coastal walks. This would be one of the most remote hikes you could ever do.
